I used a JBL Clip 2 speaker to test the Amazon Echo Input, but note that your speaker setup process could be slightly different, so use this as a guide, but not the final say. Without either of those features, your speaker won't be able to connect to the Echo Input. In order for the Amazon Echo Input device to give your existing speaker access to the Alexa assistant, your speaker will either need to have Bluetooth capabilities or an auxiliary port - it's the small hole that's usually located on the back of your speaker. We have to admit that we too have been broadly impressed with Amazon’s broad plethora of smart speaker options, particularly the very affordable Dot range which has earned. If you want the Input and can bide your time, I recommend installing a browser extension, like Honey, and setting up an alert to see when prices drop. The Amazon Echo range, consisting of the standard Echo model, the hefty Echo Studio, the touchscreen Show series and the Echo Dot, has been a great success for Amazon. I got mine for $10, which made it a steal. The built-in speakers are pretty weak, but you could probably pick up some computer speakers and plug them in (using the 3.5mm port) and get way better sound. Another bonus for the dot is that you can plug headphones or speakers into it. The Input often goes on sale, so it's possible to snag a deal. Right on, then yeah, I think that would be fine. Why not just buy that? You could, but if you already have an expensive speaker that has terrific sound quality, this is a good option. Sells Echo Input for $35, which is the same price as an Echo Dot.
